Results from State XC 2021 in Victoria!

The girls placed 4th, only five points out of 3rd and six points out of 2nd. It was a very tough field in the team scoring! I know that the girls were very bummed about not bring home hardware, and I was disappointed for them! BUT, nothing takes away from all they achieved this year, and they fought so hard (Chloe from COVID illness earlier in the season) and improved so much. They listened and bought in to our philosophy, learned and acted on what we encouraged them to do and were so coachable. I am very proud of them!
The boys had a tougher day as a team, with some fighting back from illness, but still went out there and raced hard. Despite the set-backs and disappointments, they kept positive attitudes, great work ethic and were great teammates to each other. I wouldn't trade that for any trophy. So excited for what this group will do next year, too!

State XC came and went so fast, it is crazy the 2021 season is over. The weather was perfect yesterday, could not have asked for a better day. Though I know some of the athletes had disappointments about the races, I am so incredibly proud of their successes, achievements and breakthroughs this season. Nothing takes away from that! NOTHING. I am still very happy about how everyone went out there and gave their all despite some fighting through some bad colds/allergies and 8 out of the 10 never experiencing a State XC Meet before. It is a lot to take in, and they put their nerves aside and were bold. I am already excited about next year, and feel incredibly humbled to get to coach these kids and be a small part of their lives. I can't say enough good things!

A HUGE Thank you to everyone in this community for their help. From our wonderful AD, transportation director to drivers, administration, teachers, and staff who have been so encouraging and supportive. Parents, THANK you for all you have done this season, for meals, treats, and kind words and support. So many in the community donated water, and Dean (Midway) donated the pre-State meal for our athletes last week. Thank you to the Christian Church for letting us use your kitchen/dining area for meals. Thank you TO EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL who helped us make our first home meet in 19 years a success. Thank you to Beth for so kindly and beautifully decorating our vans full of fun memories of the season. This has been one I will always remember, we have had so much fun! To all who donated treats for the trip to State, to the cheer leaders and sponsors for coming out and sending us off in style and the Chief of Police and community members, too.....To all who traveled to the meets to cheer on the kids. THANK YOU. I am so humbled. You have blessed us abundantly.
1 Thess. 5:11 So, encourage one another and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
