Mrs. Tammy Patee has decided to hang up her whistle after 40 years of teaching and coaching at Osborne Schools. She was hired in 1981, right out of college, and has taught Kindergarten through 10th Grade physical education classes as well as coached both junior and senior high school volleyball, basketball, and track. She has also served as the high school athletic director.

Mrs. Patee’s first memory in Osborne is attending teacher inservice in the new gym, and she remembers wondering why people called it the “new gym” at that time. Throughout the years, she has gathered so many great memories it would be “impossible to choose” a favorite, but she has always loved meeting the new Kindergarten class each year. “The most rewarding part of my job, easily, has been watching the students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade and into adulthood,” she says.

She has no plans to slow down after retirement from teaching and coaching. “I hope to spend a lot of time with my family, children, grandchildren, and siblings. Traveling will be on my agenda as well as golfing, swimming, reading, and going to ballgames and track meets.”

We thank you for your service to the school and students in Osborne and wish you nothing but the best!
