In the past the KSHSAA Regional Scholars Bowls were held on the first Thursday of February, however, this Scholars' Bowl season it was held on the 1st Monday of February.  Thus Seniors Janesa Ellis, Tyler Heise, Charlie Seifert,  and Thomas Spurgin, along with Sophomore Levi Knoll and Freshman Katzel Carlin sojourned to Lincoln, Kansas to compete  in  their KSHSAA assigned Regional.  There were only seven teams at this regional.  KASHAA had more regional sites this year to keep the number of competitors at each regional smaller. The other major change was that  only the 1st place team went on to the State competition.  At the Regional hosted by Lincoln, Mankato earned  first  place so they advanced to the State competition.  Therefore, a rather odd Scholars Bowl season comes to an end.  Usually the team competes in eight competitions but this season with the corona virus and snow, the team only had the chance to compete in five Scholars Bowls.  With the end of this season also brings an end to the high school Scholars Bowl competitions for our seniors.   So we bid our seniors ado and wish them well on their future endeavors.  As for the underclassmen, the buzzer systems are silent and put away.  However, with it now being February, spring is not too far away and the opportunity to show what we know next season is really not all that far down the road.     Go Dogs!
