Not really knowing what to expect with all the changes this school year and with all the uncertainties we have been dealing with, the Osborne High Scholars Bowl season got underway with a trip to Natoma.  Monday, November 2, Notama hosted one of the first varsity Scholars Bowls in the area for the 2020 / 2021 season.  In the past Natoma has hosted 21 teams for a big  Scholars Bowl competition to get the season going.  With all the corona issues they scaled it back to a ten team round robin competition.  Despite the upheavals of this school year, Natoma hosted a well organized and well run Scholars Bowl.  It was a good competition to be a part of.  For the first time in several years Osborne took six competitors which made for having substitutions between rounds.  The team members representing the Osborne Bulldogs were: Seniors Janesa Ellis, Tyler Heise, and Thomas Spurgin; Sophomores Aydan Dill and Levi Knoll and Freshman Katzel Carlin. The teams which took part in this event made for a good competition.  Osborne played several teams rather close, losing the round by a single question.  The Osborne team made a good showing at their first Scholars Bowl of the season, with Aydan and Levi scoring the most points, however, the team came away with just one win for the evening.        This new season quickly moves on with a trip to Lincoln Monday November 9.  Like Natoma's, this event will be smaller than in previous years but will likely be well executed.  The Osborne team looks forward to this next challenge.   Go dogs!
